“20 July 2016 – Parovel sentenced guilty of defamation through the press

Investigative journalist Paolo G. Parovel was convicted with a first-instance judgment to eight months imprisonment for an article published on line on “La Voce di Trieste” in which Parovel himself defamed the Territorio Libero Movement and the Triest NGO matching, back in January 2015, both organization as well as their members and supporters to delirious Italian conspiracy machinations.

The judgment was issued by Judge Francesco Dr Antoni. the Public Prosecutor had requested Parovel be convicted to six months imprisonment. Before Court there were Stefano Ferluga and Vito Potenza, who at the time of the facts were respectively the chairman of Triest NGO and the president of the Territorio Libero group, both were assisted by lawyer Nicola Sponza.”

The Free Trieste Movement (FTM)’s role as the engine of all actions for the full recognition of the rights of the Free Territory of Trieste, of its citizens, and of its enterprises (as well as of the rights of all States over the international Free Port) is a matter of fact.

Thanks to Free Trieste’s acts, hundreds of Triestines have officially addressed the Free Territory’s temporary civil administering Government seeking respect for their rights.

Taxes, documents, citizenship, legitimate elections, the reparation for military service, social care.

It is only some of the request presented, through Free Trieste, to the Commissioner of the Italian Government, an authority in charge of administering Trieste in compliance with the 1947 Peace Treaty in force and with the obligations established with the 1954 MoU regarding the Free Territory.

Thousands of questions that most certainly bother the Italian authorities that want to simulate a non-existing sovereignty over Trieste: the sovereignty of the Republic of Italy.

In September 2015, Free Trieste’s actions resulted in the re-establishment of the Free Territory’s Provisional representation agency (the I.P.R. F.T.T.): indeed an epoch-marking event.

This agency is rather  inconvenient for Italy, because it acts to defend the rights of the Free Territory’s citizens and of the enterprises, and, again, to defend the rights of all other States over Trieste’s international Free Port.

For instance, the I.P.R. F.T.T. is supporting Free Trieste’s actions in the Northern Free Port’s defense, while Italy wants to seize and destroy the area after removing it from State Property.

A remunerative business, that at the expenses of the Northern Free Port, a business worth billions and involving the enormous interests of the corrupt pro-Italian “system” that rules over the Free Territory of Trieste.

The only ones to oppose the Italian dismissal plans for Trieste’s “old” were Free Trieste, the I.P.R. F.T.T., and independent newspaper La Voce di Trieste (director: Paolo G. Parovel).

To this day, no other action protected the Northern Free Port from this speculative operation, which is also under credible anti-mafia and anti-money laundering. An operation against the Free Territory of Trieste and in breach of the rules-based international order.

This makes Free Trieste an obstacle for that local system of corruption that is attempting to silence all claims for the Free Territory’s rights to maintain the ongoing, illegal simulation of Italian sovereignty. In spite of the very Italian laws on the matter.

As a matter of fact, Free Trieste is a target since its establishment, and actions against the Movement intensified as did the relevance of its initiatives and the popular support it received.

In spring 2014, after the failure of judicial pressing, aggressions from within the Movement became the tool of choice to silence Free Trieste. A dissident group took over the organization’s websites and Facebook accounts, and sieged the Movement’s office. But they failed.

The failed golpe enjoyed wide support from the local media. The judiciary tolerated the theft of the Movement’s social media.

After the golpe’s failure, the dissidents created an copycat movement, “Territorio Libero al cubo” (cubic Free Territory or TL3), and took control of Triest “NGO”, a charity established under British law (originally intended to support Free Trieste’ actions from abroad). Then they joined forces with the UNPO (an Italian-controlled international organization for “Unrepresented People”). Finally, they announced that they would run for Italian administrative elections, denying Free Trieste’s own policy.

With that action, the local system wanted to close question Trieste, effectively converting the supporters of the Free Territory’s legitimate independence in an acceptable (for Italy) supporters of autonomy. So from that moment on, the dissidents became the focal point of Italian authority. And, of course, unlike Free Trieste they did nothing serious for the Free Territory, ever.

However, despite the hard blow, Free Trieste stood still. Many stayed loyal to the cause brought forward by Roberto Giurastante, first President elected (unanimously) during the Movement’s first Assembly, and by Paolo G. Parovel, independent journalist, director of La Voce di Trieste. With their investigations, they denounced the interests of Italian organized criminality in the actions against Trieste’s Northern Free Port.

In autumn 2014, Free Trieste withstood a second attack from the inside. A second, little group of dissidents, taking advantage of the President’s absence due to serious health reasons, they tried taking over the Movement in order to join forces with the first dissidents and run for Italian elections.

But again, the attempt failed miserably, not without the local media’s inevitable attempt to paint the new dissidents as “pro-democracy” individuals and the President’s leadership and his supporters as “autocrats”.

After the failure of the aggressions from the inside, in early 2015, the first dissidents, often supported by the second ones, started lodging complaints against both Roberto Giurastante (Free Trieste’s President), and against Paolo G. Parovel (because he is also the Movement’s spokesperson).

In the meantime, both had become representatives of the newly established Free Territory’s provisional international representation of State (the I.P.R. F.T.T.).

In the meantime, Nicola Sponza, formerly Free Trieste’s lawyer, now on the dissidents’s side, started coordinating the legal actions against Free Trieste.

The goal was always the same: destroying Free Trieste, cutting its heads, bringing the pro-independence Movement under the dissidents’ control, for them to collect more votes in an Italian election, legitimizing such procedures, just like any other barren Italian political party.

Legal actions were, and still are at this point, the local establishment’s strategy of choice. Grinding down the Triestines who stand for legality and support Free Trieste, all to bring them on the fake pro-independence gang’s side, running for Italian elections, accepting, or even supporting, the simulation of Italian sovereignty.

Still, Free Trieste didn’t give in. The dissidents, with their “TL3” run in the election, only to break into even smaller fractions for the sake of political chairs. They gained little to no votes. Just like Giorgio Marchesich’s useless political party.

On the other side, Free Trieste keeps denouncing the illegitimacy of such elections, forced with Italian instead of with Triestine laws: one more difference between loyal patriots and the traitors who side with the local establishment.

A difference easy to see in the statement issued by Triest “NGO” and by TL3, where the now pro-Italy “dissidents” are hidden. On July 20th, 2016, they bragged about the conviction of journalist Paolo G. Parovel, whom they sued for alleged defamation.

The satisfaction! How they brag about obtaining a conviction to eight months in prison for the only journalist who stands for the Free Port of Trieste, against the housing speculation of the Italian mafia-like criminal organizations!

The article in question, published on 28.12.2014, is “How and why the operations of Italian secret services against the Free Territory & Free Port of Trieste threaten international interests and stability“.

Mr. Parovel’s conviction is very abnormal. Eight months in prison for a journalist who did his duty informing the public of the huge fraud at the expenses of the port of Trieste, which is covered by the very Italian judicial authorities!

A conviction with serious limits for the defense (the hearing before the Judge for Preliminary Investigations was skipped) upon decision of Judge Francesco Antoni in a proceeding that lasted one year (preliminary investigations and discussion before Court) after the notification of the criminal complaint.

Some record time indeed, even for the Italian justice of the services.
