Trieste: "warning" to the administering Government

Trieste, 15 September 2015. – The Free Trieste Movement notified yesterday (14.9) to the Italian Government a “Public Notice” in Italian and English to remind that today, 15 September, expired the term of the «Formal invitation to comply within 90 days to the obligations established under International and Italian law in regard to the Free Territory of Trieste, its citizens and residents, its enterprises and its institutions» that the same organization has notified to them on 15 June 2015.

The Italian Government is the provisional civil administering Government of the Free Territory of Trieste and its international Free Port on behalf of the UN Security Council. Due to this, the request, supported with 15,000 signatures, was also sent to the the Security Council of the United Nations and to the President of the European Parliament, where the Free Trieste Movement has opened a specific dispute on 4 June 2015 with a petition procedure, which is supported also by Austrian and Czech political organizations.

Free Trieste announces that starting at Midnight of 15 September it will formalise the verification of the omissions and defaults of the Italian Government to «promptly activate the needed legal remedies under international and domestic law arranged for the case», that will be published on Monday 21 September 2015. In the meantime, the Notice has been «notified and published for all consequent legal terms».
