Free Trieste

A COURAGEOUS JOURNALIST

Article from local newspaper “Il Piccolo” regarding journalist Parovel’s conviction for criticizing then-Mayor Cosolini.

Today the Italian Ministry of the Environment is approving the Master Plan of Trieste’s Port. Of course, that is an illegitimate act, because it goes against the international Free Port of Trieste’s legal status.

Indeed, the international Free Port of Trieste is – and can only exist – as a State Corporation of the Free Territory of Trieste. So rules the 1947 Treaty of Peace with Italy, which Italy fully recognizes.

Of course, Il Piccolo, the Italian local establishment’s newspaper, announces the Port Master Plan as a triumph. But in doing so, it forgets that the EU has opened more than one investigation, including pre-infringement procedures, because it all points to the planned LNG terminals that Italy envisions in Trieste’s Gulf. And this would damage also Slovenia and Croatia.

Again according to Il Piccolo, Slovenia has been involved in the E.I.A. (Environmental Impact Assessment) regarding Trieste’s Port Master Plan, and expressed a positive opinion about it.

If this were true, Slovenia has just unleashed Spanish company Gas Natural’s LNG terminal in Trieste’s Southern Free Port.

But again, this is what the Italian Government and Press agencies say. Updates are certainly to follow. It is hard to imagine that a territorial claim against the Port of Trieste be accepted without protests by the Free Territory’s people and by the International Community.

This would mean that two EU Member States are attempting to force the sovereignty of one of them over the international Free Port in breach of the 1947 Treaty of Peace.

An operation that would allow the Northern Free Port’s transformation in a residential area of the city, including the area’s removal from State Property. A deal worth billions of Euro, all granted by Italian criminal cartels.

It would be Trieste’s economic end, promoted by the local politicians, who work for Italy’s interests, with Slovenia’s support, explained with the advantages its own port, Koper, would get from the dismissal of Trieste’s International Free Port.

If it were true, Slovenia’s pro-Italy establishment would have miscalculated. Dismissing Trieste’s port means diverting  the maritime traffics of Northern Adriatic on Italian ports. With a good (Rest In) Peace of Slovenia and Croatia’s development plans.

Today there is also another news on “Il Piccolo“. It is almost a cherry on top of the cake for those willing to join the Free Port’s partition with the Italian mafias. There is an article stressing the judgment against the only journalist who firmly opposes the dismissal of Trieste’s port.

We are talking about investigative journalist Paolo G. Parovel, the director of both La Voce di Trieste and Trieste Libera News. The latter is Free Trieste’s information paper.

It was Judge for Preliminary Investigations Laura Barres of the Court of Trieste to condemn Mr. Parovel. The lawsuit regarded his actions against the local nationalistic “camorra” which, in breach of the law, is attempting to force the speculative urbanization of Trieste’s Northern Free Port of Trieste as well as to suppress its Free Zones, which are protected under the 1947 Treaty of Peace (Annex VIII, art. 3.1).

In this illegal business are involved, across the board, local representatives of all main Italian parties. In particular, it was Roberto Cosolini, Trieste’s mayor (PD – Partito Democratico, the Italian Democratic Party) to sue journalist Paolo G. Parovel.

This is not the first lawsuit against Mr. Parovel, who was courageous enough to withstand this corrupt system that exploits corrupt authorities to simulate Italian sovereignty over the present-day Free Territory of Trieste.

They want to silence forever the only Triestine journalist who did not submit to Italian mafias. So they follow the consolidated path: punitive court fees. A good trick to bury the establishment’s enemies under loads of legal expenses. Thousands of Euro in sanctions, whenever you speak up your opinion, daring to say a truth that the local nationalist establishment cannot stand.

Judgments issued by judges who, in Trieste, breach the law, including Italian laws, committing abuses of all kinds, exploiting the principle, unknown in international law, but well codified in the Italian legal order, of the judiciary’s “non-responsibility”.

The lack of neutrality in cases regarding exceptions denying the Italian State’s jurisdiction over the FTT and its international Free Port, is one of the most serious violations of human rights committed by the magistrates serving in Trieste. This violation, committed in the Italian State’s name, is often committed by the same officers and magistrates who are unlawfully simulating Italian sovereignty over Trieste instead of exercising the legitimate provisional administration entrusted to the Italian Government since 1954.

This means in the Free Territory of Trieste the guarantees as for the judiciary’s neutrality and impartiality are not respected. It is obligations established at art. 10 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, art. 6 of the Convention de sauvegarde des Droits de l’Homme et des Libertés fondamentales, and even art. 111 of the Italian Constitution.

This is the democratic system forced to Trieste, Free Territory abandoned by the UN, by the mafias of one of Europe’s most corrupt States.

Italian Judges are condemning citizens of the Free Territory of Trieste for daring to say truth, standing for their rights and for the restoration of the rule of law, violated by the local representatives of the administering Italian Government.

I stand with Paolo Parovel against all Mafias. I am a citizen of the Free Territory of Trieste.
