Trieste, June 18th, 2015. – Citizens, residents and enterprises of the Free Territory of Trieste, established under UNSC Resolution 16/1947 and since the coming into force of the 1947 Italian Peace Treaty, which since 1954 is sub-entrusted under to the Italian Government’s temporary civil administration under a special trusteeship mandate, won’t pay the excessive Italian taxes and enormous public debt anymore, because those are «caused by the abnormal corruptions of the Italian political and institutional system» and are levied in Trieste without prior, regular extension of the Italian legislation on taxation.

This is the content of Free Trieste’s latest document, presented today (June 18th) during a press conference.

One June 15th, the Movement has addressed the act to both the Commissioner of the Italian Government in charge of administering the Free Territory (Francesca Adelaide Garufi) and, through her, to the head of the Italian Government (Renzi).

The Movement seeks the re-establishment of Trieste’s correct taxation within 90 days. Free Trieste calls also for the immediate precautionary suspension of fiscal proceedings – even executive – and evictions deriving from Italian laws which, as such, cannot be applied to the citizens, residents and enterprise of Trieste.

The Movement’s request covers also the identification, by the provisional Italian authorities, of the Italian laws unenforceable in Trieste (even under judgment No. 323/1965 of the Italian Supreme Court).

Free Trieste claims that the Free Territory’s fiscal administration must stay separate from neighboring Italy, and calls for compliance with the specific international obligations of the Italian Republic.

This first document act, which is also addressed to the presidents of the UNSC and of the European Parliament, constitutes the base of upcoming individual requests. Citizens and enterprises are soon to present Free Trieste’s standard forms that do as well contest the conflict of interests investing the local judiciary, as suggest the appointment of a new, neutral judicial authority.

The present-day Free Territory of Trieste (see photo)consists in the capital city, Trieste, with the international Free Port, and the five smaller, surrounding municipalities.
