Free Trieste

Poverty: an emergency that is taking over a land without defenses. It is happening in the Free Territory of Trieste, under the Italian Government’s temporary civil administration.

Here, the drama is made even more painful by the local Italian authorities’ attempt to hide that this depends only by their own mismanagement.

A mismanagement ensured by local politicians-collaborationists, consisting in plundering the assets of the administered State since decades, at the the expenses of its citizens and of the whole international community.

This is how the Free Territory of Trieste become some modern colony, where “modern” refers to how the local Italian nationalistic “camorra” takes from the people of the Free Territory of Trieste their wealth.

Revenue Agency, Fiscal Police, Equitalia, Customs Agency: they are the material perpetrators. Obviously, the judiciary helps them, acting for the sake of the local nationalistic establishment, both as controller and guarantor.

Trieste’s plundering is more than impoverishing the people forcing them to pay undue taxes and abusing the management of its State assets – including the international Free Port, it is also the loss of chances of economic development. Trieste should have been Europe’s main economic exchange area, instead, it is some meaningless, degraded suburban area ruled by pro-Italian corruption.

Every year, 40,000 Triestines emigrate, escaping poverty. 50,000 Triestines are on the edge of poverty, or are already poor. This is how 1 Triestine out of 3 lives. This is the result of 60 years of Italian administration. An administration which, by its own misgovernment, has destroyed the Free Port of Trieste and wasted hundreds of thousand of billions of Euro and dozens of thousand of jobs.

While municipal police intensifies the fight to beggars, who are only citizens abandoned to their own fate by the institutions that should protect them, the anger of the people and of the  marginalized citizens increases. And so does the will to be free from this unloyal and mafia-like administration.

[In 2014] Free Trieste Movement launched an alarm about this situation that involves many people. The complaint is addressed to the Italian Government and to judicial authority, seeking an urgent intervention to protect starving, desperate citizens, who are abandoned by their own administering authorities. Yet, there were no answers, and no actions were taken.

Follows a link to the complaint, which emphasizes the responsibilities – and criminal liabilities – of the Free Territory of Trieste’s provisional Italian Government. Take note that, despite warning all city councillors of the Municipality of Trieste, none of them considered it necessary commenting. As the problem solves itself when no-one is looking.

In Trieste, a humanitarian emergency is about to explode.
