Free Trieste’s European Petition: new documents and first international adhesions from Austria and Czech Republic

The Free Trieste Movement sent to the Committee on Petition of the European Parliament new documents and information to integrate its urgent petition that has already been registered in June:

«To denounce serious violations of international law and f the law of the European Union in the legal, political and economic relations of the European Union and of the Republic of Italy toward the current Free Territory of Trieste and toward the other Member States of the EU and of the International Community».

At the same time, Free Trieste has sent to the European Parliament the first, four, international adhesions to the petition about the Free Territory and its international Free Port, which were received from organizations of the Czech Republic and of Austria: Moravané, Schwarz-Gelbe Allianz, Süd-Tiroler Freiheit, Bewegung Freies Triest Österreich.

The new documents are mainly from the archives of the European Commission and do clearly confirms that since 1954 the enforcement of the Treaties establishing the European Communities and the European Union has been extended to the Free Territory and to its international Free Port with the special clause concerning European territories of which a Member State, Italy in this case, exercises international representation without having sovereignty over them.
