A WAVE OF CELEBRATIONS FOR THE FTT’s ANNIVERSARY!
It’s been exciting. If there is a date to remember, it myst be Sunday, the 15th of September, 2013. This is one of the days when history is made, or even better, it is rewritten.
This time, 8,000 citizens joined Free Trieste’s demonstration, and celebrated the 66ᵗʰ anniversary of the Free Territory of Trieste’s independence.
The Free Territory of Trieste exists since September 15th, 1947. Its first Government, the British-US A.M.G. F.T.T. announced it with Proclamation No. 1.
Trieste is a multiethnic State under the UNSC’s own protection. It is a European Singapore with the only international Free Port in the world.
And now, after a long silence, the people of the Free Territory are calling for their rights. Rights that were long forgotten and long denied, hidden in the name of anacronistic nationalism and breach of international treaties.
The re-establishment of the rule of law is not a utopia, rather, it is the only way to return a future to Trieste.
Respect for human rights is not some sort of privilege, rather, it is the triumph of universal values.
The people of Trieste ask that the rule-based international order applies also to their own Country.
Freedom is not a utopia, because freedom is an undeniable right.
