2016 election: more than 50% eligible voters abstain. Fake pro-independence parties (Potenza, Marchesich, Sponza) are cleared away. Free Trieste is satisfied.
2 June 2016: Free Trieste dismisses as “electoral tricks” the claims of a local Senator who attempts to claim the UN considers Trieste part of Italy.
Free Trieste’s activists did also trace the border line, finding and showing the trigonometric points that demarcate it under the 1947 Treaty of Peace.
UPDATE: in July 2017 the Court of Trieste ruled that Free Trieste’s demonstration for the Northern Free Port was not subversive.
14 May 2016: Free Trieste is the city’s biggest political organization, but it does not take part in the elections. Today it presents the 2016 NO ELECTION DAY.
