Trieste, 14 May 2016. − Starting today, the Free Trieste Movement, which is the biggest political organization in Trieste, but does not take part in the ongoing local elections, goes seriously out into the field with a special issue of its newspaper “Trieste Libera News” [find attached the 1st page and the poster].

The paper invites the citizens to invalidate those elections refusing to vote by passive abstention, by lodging at the polling stations declarations of abstentions with reasons and requesting that both Municipalities that hold elections (Trieste and Muggia) are placed under compulsory administration, also providing printed forms to support both actions.

The attack is public, open and very strong, because the newspaper does not only denounce the local Italian political system as «intolerable, incapable, parasite, and corrupt», it accuses with two investigations «the hierarchs of the PD Cosolini, Serracchiani, Russo, and Rosato» to be attempting a «international and electoral fraud worth billions of Euro to eliminate the Northern Free Port» (referred to also as the “old port”) of Trieste «favouring the interests of Italian mafias as for money laundering operations related to real estate and housing projects and the diversion of traffic routes to the ports of Southern Italy».

The newspaper challenges the holding of the elections and the legitimacy of the elected representatives because these took place under the laws of the State of Italy instead of under the laws of the Free Territory of Trieste, entrusted to the Italian Government under a mandate of temporary civil administration, and it publishes as an evidence of this the very recent UN document S/2015/809, which «denies all old, Italian thesis that deny this state of things».

This is how the Free Trieste Movement joins with full title the elections as an opponent to all, not as a participant.
