On Saturday, March 14th, at 11.30AM, Free Trieste’s office – 1st floor – hosts a press conference during regarding the legal bases and the Movement’s Campaign for the Fiscal Liberation of Trieste’s citizens and enterprises from the illegal taxes imposed by the Republic of Italy.
The action started on March 6th, when the acts of Free Trieste were officially sent to the Province Tax Commission, to the Commissar of Government in Trieste and to the managing director of tax-collecting society Equitalia Nord S.p.A., whose headquarter is in Milano.
The initiative is based on Free Trieste’s latest documents and analyses, which confirm the current legal existence of the Free Territory of Trieste and its international Free Port which, since 1954, are entrusted to the Italian Government – not to the Republic of Italy – under a special trusteeship mandate.
In view of this, the Movement considers that this is not a subversive action, rather, it is the re-establishment of legality under international, Triestine, and Italian laws.
The Trieste Tax Commission has scheduled the first public hearing on this for March 17th, [2015], at 4PM (via S. Anastasio No. 12), while no answer has yet come from the Commissar of Government and Equitalia Nord.
