Trieste: campaign of fiscal liberation for citizens and enterprises

Free Trieste Movement: stop illegal Italian taxation in the Free Territory of Trieste! Campaign of Fiscal Liberation.

Trieste, March 10th, 2015. – In the past days, the Free Trieste Movement has organized a new campaign of legal action named “Fiscal liberation of the citizens and enterprises of Trieste”.

The action is based on Free Trieste’s new documents analyses confirming the legal existence – since 1947 – of the Free Territory of Trieste. Free Trieste has also confirmed that, since 1954, the Italian Government is exercising temporary civil administration over Trieste through its Commissioner of the Government.

This is why the President of the Free Trieste Movement, Roberto Giurastante, has recently lodged before the Provincial Tax Commission the grounded exception of the jurisdiction of the State of Italy over Trieste, demanding to the Commissar of Government to enforce, by exercising their special legislative powers, the jurisdiction of the Italian Government as temporary trustee of the Free Territory of Trieste, as well as to preliminarily address Equitalia Nord S.p.A. for it not to collect Italian taxes in Trieste until the needed revision and upon restoration of the legitimate jurisdiction.

The first public hearing before the Tax Commission on this matter is scheduled, on March 17th [2015], at 4PM in Trieste (via S. Anastasio n. 12).

The Commissar of Government has received the documents on March 10th, with a cover note [HERE] which specifies the nature and range of the question of the fiscal regime of the Free Territory of Trieste, but also in regard to its international Free Port.

Because in the document, Free Trieste Movement considers that the very Commissar of Government has confirmed to the public to have and exercise the legislative powers typical of the trusteeship of the Free Territory of Trieste, not of the Italian legal when it comes to the Free Port of Trieste.
