Free Trieste at the Brennerpass with Southern Tyrolleans: our participation received claps and appreciation

Sunday, October 12th: Free Trieste’s delegation participated, with banners and an official speech in German, to a demonstration on the Brennerpass border crossing, organized by the movements standing for the freedom of Südtirol and Trentino as historic parts of the German, Ladin and Italian-speaking Tyrol.

About 300 people attended the event with banners, flags and wearing the Tiroler Schützen uniform. Together, they creating a symbolic human chain on the border’s roundabout intersection. The participation of the Triestines received appreciations and applauses.

This initiative, like the successive talks in Sterzing, are important to intensify Free Trieste’s international relations, especially those with the Austrian world and former Austria-Hungary. The Movement is bringing increasing public and political-diplomatic attention to the Free Territory and its international Free Port from Europea and beyond.

Indeed, achieving the full enforcement of the legislation regarding the Free Territory depends on the attention and interest of the International Community, as well as on the capacity to address it through suitable political-diplomatic acts, acts that in the past year Free Trieste has been producing in both Italian and English.

This competence is also what sets the Free Trieste Movement apart from smaller, minor, imitating groups, which don’t have the needed knowledge or capacity. This is also what allows Free Trieste to withstand external and also the most vicious and cowardly internal attacks. Like the irresponsible attack received on Sunday evening by a group of resigned managers, to which Free Trieste has already reacted with energy, since it does not fear battles and confrontations.

We annex to this article a photo-gallery of the event and the text of the speech in German, with the Italian and English version. Here you can read Free Trieste’s official speech, released by spokesman Paolo G. Parovel.
