AIR OF FREEDOM

AIR OF FREEDOMJune 21st [2014] was an important day for Trieste’s freedom.

It was the day of Free Trieste’s assembly, one to decide the Movement’s future.

A test about the Movement’s members and their will to keep standing for the Free Territory’s rights.

Despite the serious and hard attacks withstood in the past two months, despite the Movement’s break-up at the hands of external actors, including the local Italian authorities, on Saturday many Triestines shown that they won’t surrender.

No matter what aggression they must face.

The s.c. “founders” who left their comrades behind, embracing the local nationalistic “camorra” for the sake of some economically convenient compromise, were called “traitors”.

Many times, this word resonated during the seven hours of a very tense assembly. Sill, in the end, Free Trieste’s members understood how their Movement was almost destroyed, and the stand for the Free Territory’s rights and its international Free Port’s salvation with it.

The first dam against a devastating sea roaring to swap aside Trieste and the Free State, to pull it into an ocean of illegality, of State Camorras, stands still. And it is a dam made of 400 people. On June 21st, 2014 hey stood together for law, order, legality, and their own basic rights.

And it is a dam that won’t stop becoming firmer and stronger. The citizens of the Free Territory want to breath once again the air of freedom. And they are standing, to the very end, to enjoy their own freedom once again.
