Trieste, 4 October 2018: joint press conference of the I.P.R. F.T.T. and of the Free Trieste Movement about the judgment of first instance in the legal action on Trieste taxation

Trieste, 2 October 2018. – As known, on 29 September the Court of Trieste issued the first instance judgment in the legal action for determination with which the International Provisional Representative of the Free Territory of Trieste – I.P.R. F.T.T. and 600 citizens and enterprises from Trieste and from other States requested to enforce the special system of taxation of the Free Territory, which is more advantageous than Italy’s.
The Court of first instance, having no legal ground to declare the request unfounded, did instead “decide not to decide”, declaring to have no competence on the matter, yet, providing inconclusive reasons, and without identifying the competent body. This means, essentially, this is a case of denial of justice, and it allows not only the immediate appeal in second instance, but also parallel legal actions and political-diplomatic initiatives.
