October 28th, 2015. – Continues Free Trieste’s legal battle in defense of the Northern Free Port from illegal and deceptive speculative operations promoted by corrupt Italian political-institutional circles.

The Movement opposes those operations with a plan for the port area’s full reactivation. It is the same project previously (2003, 2009) proposed by port operators.

The reactivation plan envisions a new, 1.5 Km logistic platform in the port area (from the Adriaterminal to the Barcola embankment). The Logistic platform would be 200 meters long, with a 20 meters deep seabed, and it would create about 1,000 new jobs.

In consideration of the continuing proclamations issued by the Italian authorities involved, on October 27th Free Trieste notified to them this public formal notice (attached below, in English and in Italian).

The Movement considers that one of two things is to happen. Either the local establishment backs away from the speculative operation, or tries to force. Except the second path would mean stepping into a trap made of unlawful actions. And this would trigger a chain reaction making any attempt to dismiss or hand over the Northern Free Port null and void.
