Trieste, June 13th, 2015. – Nicola Sponza, political secretary of the “pro-independence” based in via Roma [later via Crispi], attempted to disproof with a vague and dispersive press release the embarrassing news that on June 11th he opposed before Court an the exception regarding the lack of Italian jurisdiction over Trieste.

It was Roberto Giurastante, Free Trieste’s President to lodge the exception, and Sponza asked it be rejected on the bases of previous legal decisions that claim Italian sovereignty over Trieste.

Therefore, Free Trieste confirms what has happened before Court. Free Trieste does also point out that Sponza himself, in his note, admits to have lodged a well-known ordinance on the matter issued by the Court of Trieste. Except he forgets to mentions that the ordinance claims that Italy obtained full sovereignty over Trieste with the Treaty of Osimo of 1975.

Also, Sponza’s deceptive claim that Giurastante and Free Trieste omitted to raise the exception on the lack of jurisdiction in certain legal proceedings is untrue. Documents confirm that they did lodge it constantly, in every proceeding.
