Free Trieste and the Charter of Rights: press conference on Friday, at 11.30 AM

Trieste, May 20ᵗʰ, 2015. – As previously announced, on Wednesday (5.20ᵗʰ), at the historical palace of the Imperial lieutenancy in Piazza Grande or dell’Unità, the Free Trieste Movement opened for signature and notified to the Commissioner of Government the “Charter of Rights of the Citizens and Enterprises of the Free Territory of Trieste”.

The Charter draws upon UNSC Resolution 16/1947, the Treaty of Peace between the Allied and Associated Powers and Italy, the 1954 MOU regarding the Free Territory of Trieste, and recalls the principles of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America, the UN Charter, and the main international Conventions on the Law of Treaties.

After notifying the Charter to the Italian Government through the Commissioner, on Friday, May 22nd Free Trieste is presenting it to press. The event is taking place at 11.30 AM in the Movement’s press room (1st floor), in piazza della Borsa 7.

The document, in Italian and English, is being sent to all the Countries and international organizations involved.
