March 19th, 2014: for the first time, an Italian judge recognized that Trieste did not return to Italy in 1954. The next hearing is on April 9th.
2014. The judge in charge of the proceeding is Mr. Leanza: he has confirmed that the 1954 Memorandum of Understanding of London did not return Trieste to Italy.
21 March 2014: Italian “patriots” call Giurastante “Giudastante” and claim he shall be “taken out of the way” – hopefully – with the support of the judiciary.
For the first time since the re-opening of Question Trieste, a judge declared that the 1954 Memorandum of Understanding did not return Trieste to Italy.
Judge Leanza confirmed it with a new ordinance: the 1954 MoU is a special trusteeship mandate, it does not affect sovereignty.
