27 May 2012 — Let us save the Northern Free Port!

The Northern Free Port of Trieste.

On May, 27th, 2012 the people of Trieste stood for their port. The international Free Port of Trieste is the living force of Trieste’s economy, yet, the local Italian authorities want to destroy it in the name of housing speculations.

Laws in force must be respected. Now. Without further delays.

During the demonstration, Free Trieste’s spokesperson Roberto Giurastante recalled how, in just 5 years, Trieste lost 10,000 jobs. This is the effect of the local politician’s mismanagement: they pursued their own benefits, scarifying without a second thought the environment and people of this little State, the Free Territory of Trieste.

The international Free Port is Trieste’s only way out of this economic crisis that lasts since 1954. Defending it from the attacks of mafia-like construction cartels and LNG companies means standing for Trieste’s future!

A port-city,

without a port

is no longer a city.

The 4th demonstration takes place on July 1st, 2012, and it starts at 10AM in Piazza Grande: let us keep standing for legality. Let us keep standing for our port!
