On May 30th, the Italian Ministry of the Environment approved the construction of a LNG terminal of multinational company Gas Natural in the port of Trieste, where the majority of the people, as well as the bordering Republic of Slovenia refuse it. On June 11th, the Italian Minister of Economic Development declared that his Government does not want to build it.
On June 16th, at 11AM, Greenaction Transnational and international organization Alpe Adria Green are holding a press conference in Trieste, to summarize the attempts of the Italian Government to force the construction of that LNG terminal, the non-credibility of statements that deny it released by Italian politicians, and about the strategies adopted in Trieste and in Slovenia to oppose to the project.
The speakers are Franc Malečkar and Roberto Giurastante, the public event takes place in the head office of the Free Trieste Movement, first floor, in piazza della Borsa 7.
On June 23rd, both organizations convene a press conference and a round table in the capital city of Slovenia, Ljubljana, to which are also invited representatives of the port of Koper, of the Government of Slovenia, of the embassies accredited in Slovenia (especially the main users of the two ports: Austria, Hungary, Germany, Czechia, Slovakia) and international press correspondents.
