Trieste: COSTIM notified of the illegitimacy of the “old port” project.
Trieste, 9 October 2024. – Yesterday (Oct. 8) Agency I.P.R. F.T.T. (International Provisional Representative of the Free Territory of Trieste) sent a certified email (p.e.c.) to the legal representatives of enterprises COSTIM, Elmet s.r.l. and Real Estate group Percassi s.p.a. a Notice of Compliance with the Law, in English and in Italian, detailing the grounds of illegitimacy for their proposed agreement with the Municipality of Trieste regarding the urbanization of the so-called “old port”.
According to the Notice sent by the I.P.R. F.T.T. to the three enterprises, the Municipality of Trieste does not possess the full and unconditional ownership of the assets involved in the project, which is a prerequisite for the contract’s validity; instead, the Municipality’s ownership title imposes legal restrictions on the area’s use, making it incompatible with the proposed project and is also currently subject to legal dispute by I.P.R. F.T.T. itself.
