Trieste sues the Italian Government for ruinous taxation
Trieste, June 5th, 2017. – The International Provisional Representative of the Free Territory of Trieste – I.P.R. F.T.T. has brought a legal action against the Italian Government, its Ministry of Economy and Finances, its Fiscal Agencies (Tax Revenues, State Property, Customs and Monopolies) and the INPS (Italian National Institute of Social Insurance) to verify the legitimacy of taxation in the name, on behalf, and in the budget of the Italian State in Trieste, and requesting to suspend all enforced recoveries as a precautionary measure.
Instead, the documents of the lawsuit, registered at the Court of Trieste sub 1757/17, declare and document, in facts and in law, that the Italian Government can and has to establish and collect taxes in Trieste and in its international Free Port only in the name, on behalf, and to the separate budget of the temporary civil administration of the present-day Free Territory of Trieste, which is entrusted to it by the Governments of the UK and of the US as primary administrators on behalf of the United Nations.
In the writ of summon, the I.P.R. F.T.T., which is an agency for international representation that acts upon delegation, declares that the verification requested is decisive for the economic surviving of the populations of the present-day Free Territory of Trieste, which is devastated by the excessive taxation of the Italian State, that ruins the enterprises, diverts investors, and causes unemployment and poverty to the citizens and their families. The legal action can become a class action with simple acts of accession submitted by all interested subjects.
The legal bases and fiscal consequences of the legal action brought forward by the I.P.R. F.T.T. are going to be presented during a press conference held in Trieste on Thursday, June 8th, at 11.30AM, in Trieste, piazza della Borsa 7, at the head office of the Free Trieste Movement – Movimento Trieste Libera, that is going to be the first subject to access the legal action, as representative of more than 20,000 citizens, as well as providing technical resources for new interventions.
