Trieste, May 19th, 2015. – Tomorrow, Wednesday May 20th, at 11AM, the Free Trieste Movement officially notifies the “Charter of Rights of the Citizens of the Free Territory of Trieste” to the provisional, entrusted Italian Government, through the Commissar of Government, at the historical palace of the imperial lieutenancy in Piazza Grande or dell’Unità. After the notification to the Italian Government through the Commissar, the Charter of Rights will be sent, in Italian and English, to all the Countries and intenrational organizations involved.
The Charter of Rights is based on Resolution 16/1947 of the Security Council of the United Nations, on the Treaty of Peace between the Allied and Associated Powers and Italy, on the Memorandum of London of 1954, as well as recalling the principles of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America, the Charter of the United Nations, the Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States, the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, the Final Act of the Helsinki Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europa and the Charter of Paris.
